Everyone knows a ant can't, move a rubber tree plant
Remember back when the Indiana Jones movies were awesome and River Phoenix was alive and totally hot? They showed the flashback so everyone knew why Indiana Jones was afraid of snakes? I think it would be funny to see back in peoples lives to see just what events made them who they are and what things really bother them. I witnessed a life altering even for Elle a few weeks ago and I know she will forever have issues. I was giving her a bath in my tub which is a jacuzzi tub, it hadn't been used in a week or less. I turned on the water, she got in and I left to do something else. A minute later I can hear blood curdling screams from the bathroom so I run in there and she is on the sink across the room screaming. SO I look in the tub and it is filled with hundreds of ants floating in the water. Apparently they thought they could move into the filter that sticks out of the inside of the tub, so it was like we had stepped on their ant hill. Mind you I have a bug guy, live in Georgia have bug guys. He said ants are usually a problem in April so watch for them. But this was March and there were soo many!! I pulled the plug and then dumped buckets and buckets of water on the filter until the water could run through it clean and without ants!! Then I filled the tub with hot water and bleach and ran the filter. Elle still has not taken a bath and last night I made her a turkey sandwich which she refused to eat and I couldn't understand why. It was a cracked pepper turkey so it has little black spots which she was positive were ants!! Poor little lady!!

long deep sigh, i've missed you
I'm sure you are in shock that it has been a few days since I've blogged. I am sorry to let everyone know that a loved member of our household is on it's dying last breath. One would hope that it would go in peace and dignity, allowing us to remember it with fond thoughts and memories. But no. It wants to die slowly, painfully, causing frustration and even causing loud screams of rage to echo through the house as memories it once held are lost or impossible to retrieve. For me personally, it's forcing me to go through detox, a forced withdrawal from some of my many favorite past times, like facebook, and blogspot, and the library catalog, paperbackswap.com and shelfari. Yes it's been days since I've been able to post my thoughts for the day knowing that most people couldn't care less. It's been painful emotionally charged days since I've been able to throw my witty comments out there to the web and amuse myself. Oh boy this was fun, but I think it's about to die on me and I want to send this out so everyone knows, yes I am alive. My life is still chaotic and lovely all at once. Teenagers are not my friends unless they are my young women. Matthew now has a size 10W foot, and he can put the whole foot in his mouth. Hmmm just like me I guess. I hope to hear from you soon and be heard by you but that will depend on my unfaithful virus ridden computer. Anyone see Office Space? Because that is going to be happening in my backyard, very, very soon.
PS the kids are currently trying to coax Elle's new hamster that is the size of a cotton ball out from underneath the stove. It sounds like they are having fun. If they get it I may flush it down the toliet. :)

My sunday
So my back has been seriously hurting for about 3 days. I can't sleep in any position so no sleep, walking hurts, breathing occasionally hurts. It was a little embarrassing to fall in Walmart when my leg gave out. But dinner was at my house and so I persevered and tried to make a easy dinner. Spicy sausage spaghetti sauce, homemade Alfredo, stuffed mushrooms, but I did not make homemade bread and the salad came from a bag. So it was baby steps. Maybe someone needs to take my over achiever dinner maker outside and put it out of it's misery. Unfortunately everyone has left and my back hurts quite a bit from cooking so dishes will have to be done, manna. How do you spell that? Tomorrow I guess is good enough. Or maybe midnight, it's not like I will be sleeping. I did get a wonderful blessing while the family was all here and was told to get sleep (duh) and use temperance so I can heal. (sound familiar mom?)
really seriously craving chocolate, but the person who brought dessert brought grocery bakery brownies, and I'm not even tempted to eat a bite. Maybe some cadburry eggs will fix me!!
I taught the lesson n YW today and it went alright. Connor was called as the 2nd counselor in the Deacons Quorum which is pretty exciting! Every Sunday and Wednesday he tells me the Deacons hate him and don't want him there. Maybe this will help him to see that he is wanted there and needed. Keep praying for him! He has a lot of love to give!

sick sense of humor?
Sometimes I totally crack myself up and no one else. My sense of humor must be odd or off in someway, but I think I'm funny. When I yelled tag at the Marines guarding the corners at the marathon most didn't get it. When I asked the older gentleman cheering us on if we were first, he looked sick to his stomach that I might really think so. Yesterday after getting a really great back massage from the chair while the stylist washed my hair I asked for the chairs phone number because I'd love to see it again, she kinda laughed but not really. Yet I'm still laughing at myself. Oh well. hah haha haha hah :)

Post race thoughts

I am wondering what the difference would be if I wrote this post yesterday after finishing the race vs today when I can hardly move! I felt amazing right after, top of the world. When we started the race in the dark at 38 degrees it felt a little crazy running with a mob. Mom wanted to go faster faster and I felt like her drag, her weight behind a speeding boat. But then we got into a really good rhythm. And once I took my Excedrin and some gu chews I was good to go. The last mile I was ready to run, Mom told me we were close to beating the goal I had set, so I started running when I think she wanted to slow down a bit. I think I may have yelled for her to catch up which isn't very nice, but if I slowed down I may never have sped up again! We saw the photographer and had time to smile and look like we were just out for a stroll so I hope it ended up that way. I had wanted to run 12 minute miles which is fast for me and I think we ended up doing 11.03 minute miles!! Mom finished 7th in her age division!! I was more like 37 or 42 or something like that. Which is around the 50% which I just don't think is too bad for my first marathon! My knee barely works today and my whole body feels like I was crashed against the rocks by a gnarly wave while surfing, I don't know how I'm going to walk with church shoes on, I may have to wear a long skirt to hide my knee brace, and heaven knows how my body will feel for the court of honor tonight. And yet I am still looking for my next race, i need another medal to join my precious... mmm my precious! BTW my girlfriends ran it in like 1:58 and one was 4th in her age and the other was around 7!

My bunch of orphans
I was driving to pick my Mom up for the airport which is about 40 minutes and I was in the middle of the city traffic talking to my sister on the phone when Elle starts screaming in the back seat where she has been playing with AJ. I guess someone bumped her loose tooth and it's still not out but it was turned sideways and gushing blood. Of course it's the day I clean out the car so I had nothing to hold the blood so I took off my red sweater jacket so she wiped all the blood off with that. We got to the airport and it's freezing so I put the wet bloody sweater back on and AJ remember that he grabbed a toy but NOT shoes. SO. I found a bag of shoes I brought to church to donate, and then realized I missed that by a week (sorry Misty) and it had a pair of Connor's old shoes. But they had plastic pieces sticking out through the back of the heel, luckily I found a big pair of scissors in the car and I cut off the back of both shoes and wallah slip on tennis shoes. We didn't look all that wonderful when Grandma got to the airport but we were there and all happy!
