Another Bonnie Moment
Ever get to the end of a really long day, where you went everywhere from your brother in laws dental practice to the bank to 2 different kids schools and then at the end of this exhausting day realize you had a pink bra under your slightly tight white tee shirt? No? Umm yah me neither...cough

My 2nd marathon
My running girlfriends have been after me for a few months now to go run the Rock n Roll 1/2 marathon in Tennessee this last weekend. I told them no several times, my knee hasn't been the same since our last half in March so I thought I should have longer in between races. I kinda felt good about my decision but mostly I really wanted to go. Then I found out my sis in law running it as well and it made me really want to go. Anyway, Wed morning after a few texts between friends I decided I would go and cheer them on, at least get to be there and go to the expo and stuff like that. We walked in to the expo and I saw a open line for last minute race spots and I didn't even debate it, I walked right over and got in line. I didn't really know it was my hope there would be some spots left, I had packed all my gear in case I wanted to maybe run a mile with them unofficially. But I got there and I wanted the medal and the tee shirt!! I was slightly sick to my stomach slash overjoyed and my friends looked a little sick since they know I have NOT been running a lot lately. We went down Saturday morning to get a cab to the start line and we were given a limo instead which was soo funny/awesome!! I was slotted in coral 24 and they were in 8 but we wandered around and took our time and ended up in coral 32 out of 33, so almost last, which means it took us over 30 minutes just to cross the start line. Here is the wonderful thing about that, I then spent the next 2+ hours passing everyone. Which was a huge ego boost. But you couldn't run a straight line it was a race of zig zags. My friends ran a little slower than their pace for me and I speed up a little for me and so I set a new record for myself. I never took a poarta potty break and I never walked except to drink my cyto max and water. About the time I crossed the finish line it began to pour which was perfect timing. All in all it was a great run and a fun weekend. I am losing a toe nail from it, it;s very disgusting looking, but I think it's just more proof that I am in deed a runner!!

Mantra of the hour
I will not complain that Matt's guitar playing is too loud, at least he is practicing.I will not complain that Matt's guitar playing is too loud, at least he is practicing.I will not complain that Matt's guitar playing is too loud, at least he is practicing.I will not complain that Matt's guitar playing is too loud, at least he is practicing.I will not complain that Matt's guitar playing is too loud, at least he is practicing.... I will not complain for 20 more minutes, that is long enough.
Warning labels
Warning labels on products or disclaimers at the bottom of commercials tend to crack me up. Today I noticed the warning on the costco thermal bag I keep in my trunk. It warns that hot and cold items should not be placed in the same bag. Does that get a big duh from anyone else? And yet the fact that someone had to print it on there means someone out there thought they could keep the hot stuff hot and the cold stuff cold... in the same bag!!
That being said, I should probably come with a warning label...
"warning do not feed large amounts of caffeine after 2pm. Listen carefully as she speaks very fast and then tends to laugh at herself whether you got what she said or not."

Kirks adventure
(Has anyone noticed that I start alot of my blogs with "so"? I think it shows that something bad, embarressing or painful is about to be told, this post is no exception.)
SO kirks leg was gouged on Saturday when his brother was backing up the truck with the trailor on it, a very old, very rusty trailor. I was loading up trash and didn't see it happen, and he didn't show me until late that night and I asked me if he took care of and he told me it was fine. Apparently taking care of it meant hollering at his brother and then going on a 3 hour bike ride in shorts, so all the nasty Georgia dirt could get in it. I don't see him at all on Sundays between both our callings, so I wasn't really thinking about it. But Elle called me as I was driving home from a fireside to say Dad was on the couch dying. I graoned of course, poor Elle, you can't tell a 7 years old girl that you are dying for heaven sakes. So (again with the so) I ran home and it was very red, with lovely shades or purple, yellow and puce green. I'm surprized his parents didn't force him to the hospital when they saw him at Sunday dinner, which I didn't make it to. I asked him if he needed to go the hospital which of course he didn't. So we rubbed polysporin all over but as you can guess it wasn't better by Monday. Long story short it's grossly infected, he had to have tetnus shot, large doses of antibiotics and coedine. All from a silly scratch that all he had to do was wash out and put some neosporin on!! And because I'm so nice, I'll even let you see a picture of it. It looks both grosser and better on camera, not sure how that works. This is his calve by the way.

Sunday dinner at the end of spring break
So it was Johnston dinner at my house tonight and since it's the last day of a warm spring break, I made Alice chicken, which was as always fabulous! For the dessert I really wanted to do smores in the back yard in our firepit to celebrate school starting tomorrow. I didn't know if that was not keeping with the Sunday spirit but everyone liked the idea. The kids had a riot and who doesn't like a smore?? My girlfriend also sent over the worlds best carrot cake since I watched her kids and it was soo amazing!!
Easter Dress
I realized on Sunday morning 2 weeks ago that it was the week little girls should be wearing their Easter dresses and I hadn't remembered. Luckily Elle grows slow enough that she fit last years dress wonderful and she wore Grandma Parnells lace gloves again, I think she will actually fit them by 12. I think she looks great, I even curled the ends of her hair with my straitening iron. But next year it won't fit again, so I'll start looking!

Quickie beach trip
So we succumbed to kid pressure and ran off for the weekend. The kids began telling me at 2:45 on Thursday afternoon, that they were the only kids in the entire school that was not going somewhere for spring break. It started to wear me down, add on to that, I haven't had a infuse of salt water in at least a year. So Kirk and I found a one bedroom 2 bed hotel room for very cheap on the beach at St Simons where he goes for a law conference every year, and we were gone within 12 hours. I drove so Kirk could still work Friday since he really can't take time off right. We kept driving through these dust clouds but they looked odd and I finally figured out they were huge clouds of pollen from the pine trees, which is cool, but gross when you see the resulting green on everything! The beach was warm but not too hot, and everyday dolphins swam right by us in the water which was very very cool. Kirk caught a bunch of whiting, a type of fish, and I got stung all over my legs by jelly fish, which was my own fault. The kids and I went on a early morning walk to the end of the island and we counted over 200 dead jelly fish, so only a moron would get in the water. But you know me, I just had to go in. Elle and I found several sand dollars and millions and millions of baby clams, they were everywhere. Al all in all it was short and crazy fast but fun. We were all very grateful to be back in our own beds last night, 3 people in a bed is a little tight. And it was hard to sleep with Matt texting his girlfriend and friends all night. Matt and Connor tried skim boarding to my amusement, Connor and Kirk rocked with the Frisbee, and Connor and Aj built the biggest drip castle ever. I will definatly publish pictures next, there will be a lot. You will know I was there because someone took the pictures, not because I am in any of them :)
