Duh

I made a really nice friend at work, a older gentleman who came in every week for treatments and we were talking about teenagers, since they are on my mind a lot. And we came up with the thought that perhaps we should send the teenagers to work now while they know everything and then they could go to school when they are older (over 30) and don't know anything!
Sounds good to me!

Maybe(sing this from Annie)

I have a really great friend who is going through the adoption process for a beautiful little 2 year old girl. Elle and I went to take her Ellies old kitchen for her to play with. Needless to say she loved it and we stayed for a little while so elle could show her everything in it. When we left Elle asked how to get kids for adoption, if we go to an orphange and such. SO i was explaining about marriage and kids and that. Here it is;
Elle "so can we go get a sister for me from the orphanage?"
ME " well it takes time and money and right now I'm pretty busy with you guys."
Elle " When I grow up can I get my kids from the orphange, cuz having babies seems pretty painful"
Me "of course you can, we never know what we are going to have to do, when you get MARRIED in the temple you and your husband will figure that all out."
Yah like I could deal with one more!!

My adventure ends

Well Friday was my last day of work. I am completely torn about it. I was having a really good time except when I wasn't! like everything else it had some really great highs and some lows. It was a tough decision but it came down to this, I was exhausted all the time and wasn't meeting the families needs. We also decided that we couldn't find a reliable and good way to work through things like spring break and summer. I keep telling my friends with young kids to enjoy while they are young, so I guess I should listen to my friends whose kids are grown and gone and enjoy mine while they are here! After all I will only be 46 when Elle graduates high school and all my kids are gone.... or in my basement..... sigh. So I will hopefully find a new adventure in the future after trying to enjoy the chaos I have now! Some days work was easier than what I have here you know?!

Our fun filled weekend!

whew what a weekend! I need a break just from our break! Saturday was packed from 6:30am to 10 pm with breakfast visiting with family driving through for Disneyland then temple tour guide training,meeting my good friends new adopted daughter, driving 1.5 hours to Elles gymnastics meet, sitting through that for 4 hours than driving home! I'm exhausted! Today was the Johnston family dinner at my house and in between cooking and getting kids ready I ran Connor over to a board of review for scouts. While there I realized I totally forgot the Court of Honor was today after church AND.... it was a potluck! So i texted the extended Johnston family that dinner was cancelled and instead took my port rio to the scout! It was a bit fancier and more expensive than what I would normally take to a potluck, but most everyone loved it. I did for get to warn people that my salsa was a bit on the spicy side and hopefully didn't do any damage to my pregnant friend!! The COR was run very well, it was kept short and sweet. While I was bummed they didn't have the boys pin their moms, I was happy to be getting out of there within a decent amount of time! Next up finding Connor a Eagle Scout project!! Whew!

My wonderful, fabulous way too short trip to Utah!

I had the wonderful opportunity of going to Provo this last weekend to see my newest niece Chloe! It was so much fun to get to hold her for 3 days! She looks just like her parents! lol duh! It was a funny sensation to remember holding Becky when she was this little, it was almost like being a grandma, without being the grandma thank goodness! She is the most even tempered and happy baby ever. It was also so strange to attend their ward on Sunday with all the newly weds and young families, the only person older than me there was the Bishop and it may not have been by a lot! I got to eat at several of my favorite places that I love and miss like In n'out burger, Cafe rio and Brick oven! I could have used a week to eat everything I wanted! Thanks Bex and Jameson for being willing to go eat everywhere with me! I got to sit around and watch movies while holding the baby, and slept in past seminary time every morning! It was heaven! Of course as I was leaving to go on Thursday I got a phone call about a massive failure on my part for Connor, it was his sleep over field trip day that I thought was next month and he had no sleeping bag or clothes, that was great. I was crying in the airport trying to fix it. Then as I was landing back in GA today I listened to the voice mail from AJ's school saying I left him at school today and could I please come get him, so Kirk had to leave work and get him only about hour and 35 minutes late, another shining gold star for Bonnie! Needless to say my calendar is now out and ready to be put to use!!
PS sorry to all my Utah friends I didn't get to see, it was a super short trip and I was pretty focused on the family! Next time for sure!

Blueberry Chicken

I wanted to make something like chicken parmesan for dinner in the oven and I had a long day at work and not a lot of time before everyone was hungry. SO i pulled out a new recipe and the only thing I was missing was a non flavored yogurt to dip the chicken in, well who keeps non flavored yogurt around? Not me I like flavors. But I did have that greek yogurt in a cup with the fruit on the bottom. BLueberry, "Blueberry"(bex) so I scraped off the top part thinking it was the non flavored part. However all the chicken tasted like blueberry which didn't quite go with the spaghetti sauce. So I learned a new thing luckily my teenage boys didn't notice because they were too hungry to think while eating.
